As we all try to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the major issues facing healthcare workers and everyday citizens is a shortage of masks. The CDC is now recommending people use scarves if face masks are unavailable, to help prevent the spread of this virus.Â

We are committed to helping all our customers stay safe during this pandemic and one of our responses to this situation is to promote any helpful alternative, so that masks can be used where they are most needed, and scarves can fill in the gap whenever necessary.

Fair trade scarves are a great way to find beauty and comfort while staying protected. The hand tie-dye featured in these scarves is a craft passed down through generations of artisans we work with in Rajasthan, India. In these challenging times, it is important to support small businesses and artisans around the world. We are doing our best to continue to provide income to the rural artisans who make our scarves and apparel in India, and we hope that our handmade scarves will serve our customers well during this pandemic and afterwards.Â
We have many styles of pure cotton scarves showcasing the fine textile arts of India, including hand tie dye, hand block-printing, and hand-weaving. Each scarf is a work of art and is made with great love and care by our artisans in India. Sevya works closely with each artisan group to develop designs that showcase their exquisite craft traditions in a range of contemporary styles, prints and colors.
Many of our cotton scarves are large enough to use as a wrap for sun protection, yet fine enough to pleat and wear as a scarf or use for face protection. The high quality, natural cotton material is breathable and durable, and can be washed in the laundry machine and either line dried or dried in the dryer on low heat.
