Sevya's fair trade clothing collection features soft cotton tops, embroidered tunics and free size tops, ponchos and caftans.
Our fair trade apparel comes in a wide range of styles and designs, ranging from hand block-printed kaftans to fine cotton tunics with beautiful hand embroidery done by women artisans in India. The women are able to do the embroidery in their homes, in between other household work. This gives them the flexibility of earning a fair trade wage on their own schedule, and the women are able to save money for themselves and their children's education and health care. The women are highly skilled in embroidery and the quality is evident in each piece. Our hand-embroidered tunics are available in S, M, L, XL sizes, and some styles go up to XXL size. Our tunic tops are made as per standard USA sizing, and are designed for comfort and elegance.
Our fair trade apparel collection also includes hand embroidered caftans and free size tops, which are made from Cupro, a natural material that is made from the inner filaments of the cotton seed. This luxurious fabric has a silky sheen and texture and is lightweight and easy to care for like cotton.
Our collection of women's fair trade clothing also showcases the fine cotton hand loom arts of India. For our hand-woven cotton dresses & caftans, the entire production is done by hand and no electricity is used for any stage of production. These fine cotton garments are perfect for beach cover ups or with leggings.
Our new organic cotton dresses are designed for comfort and elegance, with a free size style that fits up to XXL size. These fair trade dresses have fine detailing in soft muslin fabric.
Sevya's fair trade clothing from India showcases the fine textile arts of India, including hand-embroidery, hand block-printing, tie dye, and hand loom in contemporary styles and colors. Each piece is truly a work of art, and involves the love and care of many highly skilled artisans. Your purchase of our fair trade cotton clothing helps to support women artisans in rural India, and empower them to be the decision makers and agents of change in their communities.
Thank you for supporting fair trade!
